Santorini Engagement Session Adventure
I absolutely love meeting my couples before showing up to their wedding days – and an engagement session is the best way to do that! And in Santorini? Even better. Andy + Richard love traveling together and knew an engagement session in Santorini was the perfect way to capture their adventurous love. So they flew me out, and we met, for the first time, in Greece. Well actually, we met the day before their session, while on separate catamarans in the middle of the Aegean Sea. And thaaaat’s what you call a meet-cute.
We wanted to make the most of their engagement session because hello, we were in Santorini. So, we planned a full day adventure session. Andy and Richard booked THE best Airbnb. No, really. It’s the best. It’s so cute, and has a private rooftop where we could watch the sunrise and avoid the crowds. Santorini is known for their beautiful blue and white houses and we had an incredible view. Unfortunately, there’s a huge problem with trespassing and tourists climbing on the roofs of locals and active churches to get their instagram shots. There are so many beautiful spots where you can capture the beauty of Santorini without being horribly disrespectful. So if you’re planning to travel to Santorini (or anywhere, really!), know that you are a visitor in someone’s home town and please do your research and plan your stay well in advance.
After a quick nap and soak in our private cave pool (James and I stayed at Iliovasilema Suites, 10/10 would recommend), we all met back up for part two of our day. I found an abandoned church we were allowed to climb on (per the locals) and we all watched the sunset together. Everyone clapped and cheered when the sun set – I don’t know why, a fun quirk I guess.
We ended the night with an incredible dinner (thank you, A + R!!) and memories to last a lifetime. My first time in Greece was amazing, and I’m so grateful I got to experience it with you two. Thank you for taking me to Santorini to capture your engagement session! Next up – your wedding!
