A few years ago, Ivan reached out to ask if I could photograph his proposal to Anna-Lynne at Mt. Rainier. After some weeks of planning, some hiking, he got down on one knee, and she said yes. When I met them, it really felt like I had known them for years. It was such a huge honor to join them for their elopement in Baja California to photograph their adventure of a day (and have my fiance James there too!). Anna-Lynne and Ivan’s Acre Cabo elopement will forever be one of the most special and fun experiences I’ve ever had as a photographer.
They stayed and got ready at Acre Resort, a gorgeous treehouse hotel that offers luxe amenities, unique architecture, and a sustainable and delicious farm to table culinary experience. Seriously, the food and the cocktails are just. MmMmmM. A experiENCE. Finally, and arguably most importantly, Acre also has an animal sanctuary that features ACRE Dogs, where they house and re-home stray dogs and puppies. Guests can help by socializing with the dogs, and Anna-Lynne and Ivan did just that every single day that week. Good. People.
While Anna-Lynne was getting ready at the treehouse, Ivan hung out at the pool onsite. What’s better than a morning dip the day of your wedding? Being surprised with a sentimental gift by your wife-to-be, babyyyy~ After they helped each other finish getting ready, the four of us left for their cliffside ceremony in Todos Santos.
In the months leading up to their Acre Cabo elopement, I did some location scouting and research for their ceremony. I knew they wanted to say their vows to each other by the ocean on a cliff, so I found a short hike we could do together. I loved Anna’s look of delight when she saw the views. They shared their emotional, heartfelt vows on a lil cliff, sealed it with a kiss, and a shot of tequila (hell yea).
We headed back to Acre Resort, where we had a stunning boho dinner reception and a mezcal tasting waiting for us. James and I are forever grateful that they included us in all their reception activities, like the mezcal tasting + the most incredible dinner. The four of us danced the night away, giddy off tequila shots. We laughed, we cried, we danced, we drank.
To my friends, Los Garcias, I’m so happy for you two. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your day. We love you!
